The Golf Channel hit a hole in one with the revitalization of part of its Orlando campus. The channel turned to Walker Design LLC to create a high-functioning, multi-use space within a 1,200-square-foot area. The space holds conference and training areas plus a genius bar. It has fully integrated audio/visual technology, integrated writable surfaces for informal gatherings and multiple movable seating options that can house 150 occupants. The floor and ceiling patterns reflect lively, pixelated textures to contrast with and balance the static walls. Photography by Chad Baumer Photography.

Nov. 14-15: NFMT Orlando is going all out for FM

Orlando17-ad-300x250-altThe National Facilities Management and Technology Conference & Exposition (NFMT) was launched in 2001 by the publishers of Building Operating Management and Facility Maintenance Decisions magazines. In 2015, they launched NFMT Orlando to be a companion event to serve the Southeast of the United States. The goal was to bring free education, networking and product discovery to facilities professionals in another region of the country. NFMT Orlando may be the  premier facilities management conference in the Southeast supplying broad-based education for facilities professionals from every type of organization: government, education, commercial office healthcare, retail, hospitality and industrial.

NFMT Orlando is held at the Orange County Convention Center located on International Drive, within walking distance to all the resorts, entertainment, shopping, bars and restaurants.

Pre-Conference workshops include: How to Manage a Crisis: A Tactical and Strategic Experience. This is a deep dive into the 2 sides of handling a crisis/disaster situation – both individually and organizationally. During this session, you will experience crisis in a highly interactive and dynamic format. Learn how the mind and body will respond in a crisis, what things you and your organization can do to prepare for a potential crisis, and gain specific insight for how to successfully navigate a crisis both tactically and strategically.

Building Relationships Up, Out and Down the Organization to Sell the Value of Facilities.  Day-to-day facility operations are consumed with ever-changing demands and non-stop busyness: reactive firefighting, responding to customer requests, managing contractors, and trying to squeeze a quarter out of your nickel budget. Life in facilities is never boring. However, no matter how good you and your team are at juggling these tasks, true success for the department will not be realized if the most important component is not satisfactorily addressed – relationships. Discuss thesimple steps you can apply to sell the value of facilities management to upper management and across the organization; and we will provide tips for getting your team on board with this endeavor. These efforts, combined, will help you to solicit the resources and recognition your department needs to achieve the desired vision.

In between sessions, the exhibit floor is known for its robust solutions to facilities issues.

There are more than 50 conference sessions in seven tracks: Building Automation, Energy Management, Future Trends, Healthy Buildings, Maintenance & Operations, Project Management, and Safety & Security.

Earn CEUs for every session you participate in at NFMT Orlando. Approximately 10 days after the conclusion of NFMT Orlando you’ll receive email with a link to assessment questions for every session you were scanned into.
