The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International honored four of its members with the Regional Member of the Year Award during the 2017 BOMA International Conference & Expo in Nashville, Tennessee, in late June. Regional Member of the Year Awards are given annually to BOMA members who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment and contribution to both the association and the commercial real estate industry.
The recipients honored at this year’s annual conference were:
Michael J. Gill, CPE, CEM, LEED AP O&M, BOMA/Boston
Middle Atlantic Region’s Member of the Year
Michael J. Gill is director of Operations for the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. With nearly three decades of industry experience, Gill has been responsible for approximately 3.4 million square feet of Class A office space. A BOMA member for more than a decade, Gill has served on and co-chaired several committees during his tenure. He was president of BOMA/Boston in 2016 and implemented a long-term strategic plan to address everything from promoting operational excellence to building strategic relationships.
Melissa Graham, RPA, BOMA/Fort Worth
Southwest Region’s Member of the Year
With more than 25 years of property management experience, Graham serves as senior general manager for JLL. Under her leadership of BOMA/Fort Worth’s Government Affairs Committee, Graham increased committee participation and created the political action committee BOMAFW PAC. She helped lead the Texas BOMA Advocacy Day, and her work on the BOMA Southwest Region Board strengthened the relationships between local associations and reinforced the value of the regional conference.
Ian Hughes, LEED GA, BOMA/Georgia
Southern Region Member of the Year
Ian Hughes serves as senior vice president of Property Management & Leasing for Lilibridge Healthcare Services, Inc., and he has been an active BOMA/Georgia member for more than 20 years. Under his leadership of BOMA/Georgia, the organization saw historically high event attendance and record membership numbers. He launched a new leadership training program, which strengthened the local association by identifying and fostering new leaders.
Anna Juarez, RPA, BOMA/Nevada
Pacific Southwest Region Member of the Year
Anna Juarez has nearly two decades of experience managing and supervising multi-property portfolios, and currently serves as the national real estate manager for The Molasky Group of Companies. She has been a member of BOMA/Nevada since 2005 and served as its director of Education and president and is the incoming secretary for the BOMA Pacific Southwest Region. Juarez has been instrumental to the continued growth of BOMA/Nevada, including its local The Outstanding Building of the Year®(TOBY®) Awards program.
