During the annual American Institute of Architects (AIA) Conference on Architecture, Mancini Senior Associate Jessica Sheridan, AIA, was elected to the position of Director At-Large for the 2019–21 term. Since joining Mancini, Sheridan has been an active leader of the firm.
“At Mancini, I’m on the leadership team that is responsible for envisioning the future of our evolving practice,” explains Sheridan. “From this perspective, it becomes clearer to me that architecture firms, and the AIA, need to think beyond the now and focus on the positive impact we can have on our communities as leaders and innovators. As AIA Director At-Large, my focus is to think boldly and aspirationally about our profession to meet these goals.”
Sheridan instills a sense of inclusion and collaboration amongst her colleagues at Mancini. This ability allows her team to navigate with confidence through projects and challenges that arise. Sheridan’s proactive approach to develop meaningful results for her team and her clients makes her a natural fit for the leadership of an organization like the AIA.
“Jessica’s leadership has been critical to the evolution of our firm and it’s exciting to hear about her vision for the AIA – they couldn’t have elected a more enthusiastic Director At-Large,” said Christian Giordano, president at Mancini. “We couldn’t be happier for Jessica and her achievements both at Mancini and with the AIA.”
Sheridan’s involvement includes active membership on the AIA Knowledge Committee as well as the AIA Strategic Council, having served as its New York representative for the last three years. Other honors include the AIA Louise Bethune Fellowship and recognition with an AIA Young Architects Award, which honors individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership and significant contributions to the architecture profession early in their careers.
