Humanscale is partnering with the New York Liberty professional women’s basketball team to provide its smart, active workplace solutions for their new locker room and staff area. The newly completed design-build renovation of the team’s 6,000 square foot locker room and lounge at Barclays Center was conceptualized and completed by a group of women from Shawmut Design and Construction and Generator Studios with women’s comfort and preferences in mind.
“Humanscale and the New York Liberty share similar values of excellence, wellness and inclusivity, making this partnership a perfect match. All of our products are designed to ensure everybody – and every body – is fully supported. We’re excited to have our iconic Liberty chair play a small part as the team pursues what we hope is a winning season,” says Leena Jain, CMO of Humanscale.
The Liberty Task chair was a natural selection not only for its name but for the chair’s inherent wellness features. It offers an automatic weight-sensitive recline that works with the sitter’s own body weight and the laws of physics to encourage movement. It has been engineered to provide automatic lumbar support for every user, as well as offering simplicity and complete ease of use.
“A group of world-class athletes deserve a world-class space, and that is precisely what Shawmut and Generator Studios have created with this new locker room,” says New York Liberty CEO Keia Clarke. “The Liberty organization continues to be intentional about uplifting women in all facets of the company and this renovation project is no different.”
