KI’s K-12 market manager earns top educational facility planning credential

Innovative furniture manufacturer KI has just announced that Emily McGinnis, K-12 market manager, has been awarded the prestigious Accredited Learning Environments Planner (ALEP) designation by the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE). This credential represents the highest level of achievement in educational facility planning and acknowledges McGinnis’ expertise in creating environments that foster student success.

In her role at KI, McGinnis brings more than two decades of experience in the K-12 realm, having served as both a teacher and a principal in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her blend of leadership, community engagement, and a deep understanding of learning spaces has made her an invaluable asset to KI and its clients.

“We’re proud to celebrate Emily’s achievement in earning the ALEP designation, which highlights her deep commitment to designing educational environments that inspire and engage students,” said Bryan Ballegeer, vice president of education markets at KI. “Her expertise and passion for supporting the K-12 community are integral to KI’s mission, and this recognition further solidifies her leadership in shaping dynamic and effective learning spaces.”

To earn the ALEP credential, individuals must meet stringent eligibility requirements, including completing the A4LE Academy Advanced Certificate Program or participating in the Professional Pathway Process. This credential is maintained through continuous education and renewal every three years.
