Winner of a prestigious Nightingale Gold award, C.F. Stinson‘s new collection, Haiku , features eight textiles that provide a serene, poetic experience designed to elevate healing environments. An economy of expression, a Haiku poem captures the essence of a fleeting moment in time and evokes a vivid emotional response. In a similar way, a carefully curated palette of materials can create a mood and atmosphere of an interior.
The Haiku collection features eight bleach solution cleanable patterns in 66 soothing yet elegant colorways and includes woven, non-woven and Privacy Curtain options. All materials in the collection have been constructed to meet the rigorous demands of healthcare and are durable, cleanable and GREENGUARD Gold Certified.
From soft pastels to deep saturated jewel tones, the colors, textures and patterns in Haiku have been designed to complement healing environments. Upon first glance, it is easy to feel and understand that the collection is focused on a sense of calm and well-being. The elegance of simplicity helps to define the collection. The simple yet sophisticated patterns can be intermingled depending on the intended environment or application. Among the patterns are:
Stinson is, and always has been, known for quality and performance. Elegant and unique, yet practical, Haiku delivers performance attributes that make a difference in demanding healing environments. All of the coated fabrics have been thoroughly tested for compatibility with a myriad of cleaners and disinfectants. Complete Cleaner and Disinfectant Compatibility is presented in a searchable database at Stinson. Items listed in bold within the database have EPA Registration Numbers which appear on the EPA’s list of Disinfectants for use against SARS-Cov-2, the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19. All non-woven products in the collection are HC-201 Certified. This certification represents a significant difference and advantage for the collection by allowing designers, specifiers and end users to easily identify products that have been designed specifically for healthcare. All products in Haiku include Stinson’s Warranty protection.
Representing an industry first and true sustainable breakthrough, coated fabrics Painted Moon, Sea of Clouds, and Sumi are produced using a minimum of 50% resin derived from forestry industry waste such as wood chips, wood pulp, and sawdust. These natural resins are made from renewable resources that require less energy to produce, and store carbon dioxide (carbon sequestration) which reduces the amount of carbon in the atmosphere and helps to mitigate climate change. With this innovative technology, Stinson is able to reduce its carbon footprint by nearly 20 kilos of carbon dioxide for every 30 yards of fabric produced in comparison to traditional coated fabrics. These fabrics also use a 100% post consumer recycled polyester backing.
Kigo, the privacy curtain, is composed of 46% Post Consumer Recycled Polyester yarn, which includes 23% SEAQUAL YARN making it SEAQUAL INITIATIVE Certified. The SEAQUAL INITIATIVE is a community of individuals, organizations and companies working together to help clean our oceans, raise awareness of the issue of marine litter, and highlight those helping to fight it. SEAQUAL works with the waste management and recycling industries to transform marine litter into product inputs like yarn so that leading brands like Stinson can create inspiring, sustainable products.
Additionally, Skipping Stones is produced using 50% Post Consumer Recycled Polyester, and pattern Lyric is produced using 28% Post Consumer Recycled Polyester. All products are GREENGUARD Gold Certified and do not contain PFAS, fluorocarbons or perfluorinated compounds. All upholstery products do not contain flame retardant additives and are AB2998 compliant.
